Welcome to Community Memorial Hospital System Cardiac  Care Unit (CCU). Our staff is committed to providing you with the best care and helping you through this very difficult time.

Cardiac Care Unit is an important unit that provides hi-tech, compassionate nursing care for the critically ill or closely monitored medical/surgical adult patient with an emphasis on the heart patient. The staff includes all specialized trained and experienced RN nursing staff with the assistance of a patient care tech.

Patient Inquires

The nurse will accept inquires from your designated caller 24 hours a day. All other callers will  be referred to the designated caller for further information. This is done to protect your privacy and reduce interruptions to the nurses caring for you.

Parking

Parking is available in the on the 1st floor of the parking structure opposite the Emergency Room

Visitors Lounge

The visitors lounge is on the 3rd floor. The lounge serves all the adult critical care units. We ask that no more than 3 family members per patient occupy the lounge. Larger accommodations are available in the main floor lobby. For patient safety, NO children under 16 may be on the 3rd floor. Children may wait with a responsible adult in the main floor lobby of the hospital.

Visiting Policy

We ask that you adhere to the following:

• Only 3 visitors at a time
• Limit of 10 minutes per visits
• We ask no children under the age of 16 years 
• The unit is closed to visiting from  (10:30 pm - 9am) and (6:30 pm to 8:30 pm) while nurses compile reports on their patients. Please ask questions regarding your family
  members after this time. This also ensures patient confidentiality.
• Due to the nature of a patients illness, visits are subjects to the nurses discretion. Exceptions may occasionally be made. These need to be cleared with the nurse caring for the patient.

Gift Shop

The gift shop is located on the first floor near the main entrance and the main lobby.  The hours are  8am to 8pm Monday-Friday and Sat/Sun 8am to 4pm.

Cafeteria

The hospital cafeteria is located in the basement. It serves a variety of foods, including hot meals, salads, sandwiches and soups. The cafeteria is open from 6:30-9:30am, 11:00-2pm, 5-7pm.

Smoking

Smoking is allowed outside of the hospital. There are benches and sheltered areas on Brent St side of the building.

Pastoral Care

We welcome visits from your own pastor, minister or priest.  The hospital also has a chapel on the first floor near the main lobby. It is open 24 hours a day.
