Occupational Therapy helps the cardiac patient return to their normal "activities of daily living". We address any issues with bathing, dressing, grooming/hygiene, toileting, meal preparation and light household chores while following any cardiac precautions the physician may have provided. We will also teach how to perform these activities in a way to help the patient conserve energy. We are available to work with patients while they are in the hospital or after they have been discharged.
If you experience any problems in performing any of these activities, your physician can write an order for occupational therapy depending on your needs.
Please call the Occupational Therapy Department at (805) 652-5063 or 652-6007 for any questions we can help you with or check our website www.cmhhospital.org for more information.
