Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation
 

Breathing Easy, Community Memorial Hospital's System Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service has served the community since 1991. Our Service is designed to enhance the quality of life to the highest possible level, maintain or improve exercise tolerance, increased each persons's independence and increase understanding of the individual's pulmonary dysfunction.

Breathing Easy is a six week therapeutic service, two days per week, for approximately 2 hours per day. Subjects covered are anatomy and physiology, bronchial hygiene, medications, breathing retraining, nutrition, stress reduction, relaxation, panic control techniques, oxygen therapy, pacing and various other topics. In conjuction with the education, patients will be monitored in an individualized exercise program on specialized equipment.

Patients eligilble for admission into Breathing Easy are those suffering form chronic respiratory diseases such as emphysema, asthma, chronic bronchitits, pulmonary fibrosis and other chronic lung disorders.
